Invest
Ventures open to angel and VC investment, and open-source projects you can back through GitHub Sponsors, Open Collective, or Ko-fi.
A number of the things I build are open to investment. They come in two kinds, and the right way to back them differs. Some projects, like Arcanist, are both.
- Ventures On a path to becoming companies, with real users and production intent. Open to angel, venture, and strategic investment. See the ventures
- Open-source projects Public goods first, kept alive by sponsorship. The larger ones are open to investment conversations as well. See how to sponsor
Ventures
Early-stage ventures I want to grow into companies. I am looking for angels, funds, and strategic partners who understand early infrastructure and deep-tech products.
- Open beta
Archipelag.io Decentralized AI compute: AI jobs run on a network of community-operated GPU hosts. Jobs prefer nearby hosts and a preferred region, and every job records where it ran; strict regional enforcement is in development. In free open beta: hosts earn virtual credits while metering is validated, and real-money payouts are not enabled yet.
- Public alpha
Cyanea Bioinformatics notebooks that actually re-run. Write, run, and share analyses that execute in your browser on WebAssembly, with nothing to install. Every notebook, dataset, and output is a versioned snapshot you can run again. A Rust analysis stack underneath, 21 file formats built in. Open source, with self-hosting and federation on the way.
- In development
Humankind Human continuity platform for preserving presence across generations. Humankind helps people build a living archive of voice, stories, memories, values, and relational warmth so the texture of a person remains accessible long after distance, aging, or death would otherwise erase it. Consent-first, privacy by default, and explicit about the difference between recorded truth, reconstruction, and inference.
- Shipping
Arcanist Haskell tooling for the age of AI-authored code. hx is a fast package and project manager written in Rust, and bhc is a compiler built to check everything it can. With a registry that records what has been verified, they lead toward a commons where nobody, human or model, has to verify the same thing twice.
Open-source projects
Infrastructure and tooling that should stay free to use. Sponsorship pays for maintenance, releases, and the time to keep them healthy. Open Collective keeps income and spending public; GitHub Sponsors and Ko-fi suit monthly or one-off support. Companies that depend on a project, or want to build on it, are welcome to talk about investment too.
Everything else at raskell-io takes support through GitHub Sponsors and Ko-fi.
For angels and funds
What I am open to
- Angel and pre-seed An early ticket in a single venture, from people who want to be close to the work.
- Venture capital For the ventures that are ready to scale past their first users.
- Strategic investment From companies that use one of the projects or build on it.
- Sponsorship at company scale For the open-source projects, with or without equity.
What I can share
Depending on the venture and its stage:
- A demo A walkthrough of the product, and access to the beta or alpha where there is one.
- The roadmap Where the venture is going, and what an investment would fund.
- The numbers Usage and growth, as far as the stage allows.
- The architecture How it is built. Most of the code is already public on GitHub.
- A deck And further material once a conversation is under way.
